LIFE is the EU’s funding programme dedicated to the environment and climate action.
The topic aims to accelerate the green transition in urban spaces by testing integrated innovative solutions addressing energy, nature and climate.
Supporting uptake of innovative solutions for the green transition addressing interconnected challenges of circular economy, zero pollution, nature and biodiversity, energy transition and/or climate action in urban spaces is key to increase efficiency and effectiveness of actions at urban level to deliver on the EU environmental, climate and energy objectives. In a context of limited resources and multiple priorities, this specific funding topic intends to support the green transition in urban spaces in a cross-sectoral and integrated way. I

Offer support to local authorities to develop and implement ambitious integrated approaches that can effectively provide solutions to key challenges across the environmental, climate and energy policy areas, it is expected to contribute to the implementation of various Union environmental, climate and/or energy legislation and/or policies in urban spaces and to maximise the co-benefits of an integrated approaches.

Support the green transition in urban spaces ina cross-sectoral and integrated way. In order to be eligible, the applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must:
+ be legal entities (public or private bodies)
+ be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:
+ the coordinator must be established in an eligible country
Proposals must be submitted by at least 3 applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from 3 different eligible countries.
The coordinator beneficiary must be a local authority or a grouping of local authorities.
Projects may last from 36 to 60 months.
The estimated available call budget is EUR 8 000 000.
Maximum 90% funding rate.
