EU Project Experience
Substantial experience
LYS has been facilitating International Youth Exchanges (YEs) since the early 1990s, supporting over 150 young Irish people since 2010 to visit European countries including France, Malta and Italy under Erasmus+ funding and with Léargas support.
LYS has also delivered European Solidarity Corps Projects.
LYS has successfully submitted our accreditation application securing Erasmus+ funding over the next three years.
EU Funding Goals
We would like to develop our skills and competencies in youth work, education, training, and employability provision with respect to ensuring the active participation of young people for example in policy, advocacy, and campaigns, maintaining creative and innovative practice with a focus on methodology, curriculum and meaningful outcomes for example digitalisation and technology, and in prioritising inclusion and diversity.
Strenghts
For almost 50 years, LYS has provided youth work, education, training and employability services and supports to generations of local families.
We are rooted within our community and offer a warm and welcoming culture and environment where young people feel safe and connected
While LYS connects with all young people, regardless of need, we are experts in engaging disadvantaged, marginalised and vulnerable young people.
LYS is particularly strong in integrated and holistic delivery whereby the entire LYS community – young people, youth workers, instructors, managers, parents and families, external agencies and local communities – collaborate and act in enabling the young person to reach their full potential.
