EU Project Experience
No experience yet.
The Latvian Society in Ireland has not yet participated in EU-funded projects. However, we actively run cultural and educational programmes, including five weekend schools and annual diaspora events reaching over 20,000 people.
We are eager to join future projects as a reliable partner, particularly under Erasmus+, Creative Europe, and CERV, focusing on youth engagement, non-formal education, integration, and cultural heritage.
EU Funding Goals
First 2 years: We aim to build a European network and participate as a partner in projects related to diaspora engagement, youth work, cultural heritage, non-formal education, and multilingualism. We want to develop project management skills and learn from experienced coordinators.
In 5 years: We plan to lead small-to-medium EU projects, develop training resources for diaspora schools, and organise intercultural exchange events for youth and educators.
In 10 years: We envision coordinating multiple EU projects focused on cultural identity, integration, and civic participation, with cross-sectoral impact and long-term legacy for the Latvian diaspora in Europe.
Strengths
We have deep experience in community-building, diaspora engagement, and cultural preservation.
Our strengths include access to a broad and active Latvian diaspora in Ireland (20,000+ people), strong partnerships with schools, artists, and media, and a dedicated volunteer network.
We offer expertise in organising large-scale events, youth engagement, non-formal education, and intercultural cooperation.
