Gaisce - The President's Award

Gaisce is Ireland’s national youth award and is a personal development programme for young people aged 14-25. It's a direct challenge from the President of Ireland to all young people to fulfil their potential. There are three progressive Award Levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. For each level, participants undertake Challenge Area activities that fulfil Personal Skill, Community Involvement, Physical Recreation and Adventure Journey. More than 250,000 young people have achieved a Gaisce Award.

EU Project Experience

Some experience

Gaisce ran the Wavelength programme (2019-2021), funded through AMIF which supported refugees and people seeking international protection to achieve a Gaisce award.

Gaisce has engaged as a partner on various ERASMUS+ projects such as youth worker mobilities with DofE Finland.

EU Funding Goals

We are interested in learning and sharing best practice in the areas of youth voice, youth empowerment, inclusion and equality, and active citizenship.

We are interested in residential learning opportunities for our young participants in partner countries.
