EU Funding Goals
Disabled Women Ireland (DWI) is keen to build connections and collaborate with other human rights-based organisations and researchers working in human rights and disability across Europe working to advance the implementation of the UN CRPD.
Through collaboration, we aim to strengthen our collective impact, share resources and knowledge, and ensure that the voices and rights of disabled women are central to disability and human rights policy across the region.
Strengths
Disabled Women Ireland (DWI) brings the collective strength of over 200 disabled members who actively engage with our work.
We have significant experience in responding to policy and legislative proposals at national, European, and United Nations levels.
As a Disabled Persons’ Organisation (DPO), we offer both lived experience of disability and a strong, intersectional analysis of the social, legal, and structural barriers that disempower disabled people - particularly women, girls, and gender minorities.
Our expertise lies not only in advocacy, but also in centring gender and disability rights in policy work, and we are committed to inclusive, rights-based collaboration.
