Organisation

Our services focus on facilitating culturally appropriate services that ensures ongoing support for new communities and promote mutual understanding, cultural awareness and build positive relations.Established in 2010, and now connect and cater for the needs of users from over 35 different countries, many of whom have high levels of poverty, deprivation and social exclusion. We use a holistic approach; and provide a welcoming space for people to meet and share as well as access support to help build their skills to become active citizens of the community they live in. Amongst a wide range of services and activities, Culture Connect currently runs after school programmes for migrant children and young people, classes in English as a second language for adults and children, support groups for women and for young people, intercultural mediation and interpreting services to promote better access to health services, education, employment; and intercultural awareness training and events to promote mutual understanding amongst communities.

We have some experience in Erasmus+ and we have led and joined in Strategic Partnership for Vocational Education and Training projects with other organisations.

EU Funding Goals

More exchange of good practices on diversity, inclusion and empowerment projects that will help immigrants to become active citizens of the new community they live in.

Strengths

We are full of ideas, we have great organising skills and we have access to immigrants from diverse cultures. A network of individuals and groups from different cultures (over 35 different cultures) are represented in our platform.
